Butterfly Chicken

Butterfly chicken is best served as starter and I am sure each one of you will love this because it is not at all time consuming recipe .


  • Boneless chicken 1 Kg

  • Potatoes ½ Kg (sliced & soaked in vinegar water for about 3 hours)

  • Vinegar 1 Teaspoon

  • Butter 50 Grams

  • Cheese 250 Grams(grated)

  • Ginger & Garlic paste 1 Teaspoon each

  • Black pepper powder 1 Teaspoon

  • Cumin seed powder 1 Teaspoon

  • Soya sauce 4 to 5 drops

  • Red chilly sauce 2 Tablespoons

  • Chat Masala 1 ½ Tablespoon

  • Red chilly powder 2 to 3 Teaspoon (as per your taste)

  • Salt as per your taste

  • Lemon juice one cup

  • Corn Flour 3 Tablespoons

  • Maida 3 Tablespoons

  • Toothpick

  • Coriander leaves enough for garnishing


Marinate the Chicken with Chat Masala , Soya Sauce, Red Chilly Sauce , Vinegar , Salt , Red chilly powder, Lemon Juice , Butter , Ginger & Garlic Paste , Grated cheese, Black pepper & Cumin seed powder and refrigerate it for about 3 hours

Peel the potatoes and slice them in round shape and soak them for about 3 hours in vinegar water.

After 3 hours when your chicken is ready to fry , add equal amount of Maida & Corn flour .

Roll the chicken pieces in this mixture

Now skew in toothpicks keeping the chicken piece in the center of the potato slice and deep fry in medium hot oil till potatoes turn crisp & light gold.

Take out the fried pieces and place them on a dry tissue paper.

Sprinkle Chopped coriander leaves and grated cheese and serve them with Tomato sauce / chutney as per your taste .
