CINEMA POPCORN vs HOME POPPED POPCORN

Popcorn is easy to make, easy to eat with your hands, can be made without a huge kitchen, and the smell makes people want to buy it.

Popcorn is always one of our household favourite snacks.

IT is one of the best foods for women to eat during pregnancy apart from fish, carrots, oranges, spinach, mangoes, avocados, edamame, chicken, and many more. Popcorn is surprisingly healthy; it is the loads of salt and butter that most people include that makes this snack less than the idea.

However, popcorn has a significant level of fibre, vitamin E, selenium, and even some antioxidant compounds (phytonutrients) that can protect the development and strength of your baby’s cell membranes. Popcorn is a low-calorie, wholesome food that’s high in fiber.

Popcorn is actually a healthy snack choice and can be eaten daily if prepared  plain without the traditional butter flavoring.

The Question is:

Is your Healthy popcorn really good for you?

Popcorn manufacturers have reinvented popcorn as a nutritious alternative to crisps, but the snack can come loaded with sugar, salt and fat.

CINEMA POPCORN Vs HOME POPPED POPCORN

CINEMA popcorns is one of the worst  when it comes to calories

Large buckets of sweet popcorn from the cinema, or packets of gourmet, flavoured popcorn can be high in calories and loaded with sugar and/or salt.

Large 280g packs of sweet popcorn available at some cinemas, for example, contain more than 1200 calories and 40g of sugar (the equivalent of 10 teaspoons), while large buckets of salted cinema popcorn can contain as much as 3g of salt – half our recommended daily intake.

Air popped at home

Make your own popcorn, and go light on the salt. Put ¼ cup of kernels in a brown paper lunch bag, and add a teaspoon of vegetable oil. Fold the top twice, place bag in the microwave and pop for 2 to 3 minutes. Or, use the same ingredients in a pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Keep the lid on — popcorn kernels can pop up to three feet in the air! Shake continuously until popping ceases.

A 25g serve of plain air-popped popcorn contains 90 calories, no sugar and about 1g of fat

Home-popped popcorns are Safest & Best to opt for a healthy-lifestyle and gives you maximum Health benefits.

I request the readers to spread/share this post and create awareness amongst others especially children who loves binging upon PoPcorn in “Cinemas/Street” and think that it is Healthy & Safe.
