You would have been taking cow’s milk most of the time. But do you know how much beneficial is camel milk? And are you aware that camel milk treats many other diseases that cow milk cannot? To know more, continue to read!

Camel milk is the closest you can get to a human mother’s milk, with 10 times more iron and three times more vitamin C than cow’s milk. It is antibacterial and low in lactose. The camel milk protein passes rapidly through the stomach into the intestines for absorption.

There are loads of nutritional differences between the camel milk and cow milk. Let’s take a  look at some of the significant ones here:

1. Camel milk contains a higher concentration of minerals like iron, zinc, potassium, copper, sodium and magnesium.

2. It contains higher  levels of vitamin A and B2 . It also contains more protein than cow milk.It contains three times more Vitamin C than cow milk.

3. Camel milk contains lower cholesterol than cow milk. It also contains more unsaturated fatty acids and essential B-vitamins than cow milk.

4. Camel milk contains a different composition of whey proteins when compared to cow milk, which is a big reason why it has more healing properties than cow milk.

5. It contains a lower amount of lactose which makes it easier for lactose-intolerant people to digest and consume.

6. Camel Milk has more effective antibacterial and antiviral characteristics than cow milk.

7. Camel Milk does not solidify easily and is easier to digest than cow milk.

Health Benefits Of Camel Milk

Anti-aging

Camel Milk contains a compound called alpha-hydroxyl acid which helps smoothen fine lines and prevents wrinkles, thus delaying the onset of aging.

Cures Tuberculosis:

There have been many studies on the effectiveness of camel milk when it comes to curing tuberculosis. Camel Milk is a strong antibacterial and antiviral agent that helps in clearing out the body of mycobacterium tubercoli.

Good For Weight Loss:

Camel milk is effective in controlling diabetes. Not only because of the different insulin-like proteins present, but also because it is low in fat. The low-fat value means that you will not put on unwanted weight or struggle with high levels of cholesterol. Camel milk is rich in most nutrients and minerals and insulin. The insulin regulates blood sugar and keeps it balanced.

No Extra Chemicals:

Camel milk contains more than 4-times the amount of Vitamin C than other types of milk. Camel milk is high in iron, folate and other essential nutrients. This means that camel milk does not need any added preservatives. It also has a decent shelf life, and it can stay good for up to 3 weeks.

Camel milk is also beneficial for skin ,nails & hair:

Camel milk – especially camel milk powder , contains two essential nutrients for plump and youthful skin: Vitamin C and elastin.

Vitamin C helps stimulate collagen production, the protein responsible for giving skin its soft, supple texture, while elastin maintains skin elasticity. Our bodies naturally produce collagen and elastin, but as we age, the amount we produce declines. This is when fine lines and wrinkles set in and skin begins to sag.

Rather than turning to expensive injections, we can increase our collagen and elastin production through dietary sources, such as camel milk. Applying camel milk powder topically as a face mask helps tighten the skin and exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, which instantly creates a brighter appearance.

If you can’t get your hair and nails to grow naturally, it may be time to up your omega-3 intake, which the camel milk provides best!

It is higher in omega-3 essential fatty acids and provides shiny hair and strong nails

If you or any of your loved ones suffer from severe allergies or you are simply looking for a healthier alternative to cow’s milk, you might want to give camel milk a try.

  8. BellyBytes says:

Didn’t know about this at all. Perhaps this is a good alternative to mother’s milk that doctors say children shouldn’t have after they’ve stopped nursing.

  9. Ashvini Naik says:

That’s a lot of information, Amna.

I know the original Arabs have always thrived on camel’s milk. However, camel’s milk may only be available to the origines of Rajasthan & Gujarat, I guess, in India. All the more, it hasn’t been commercialized yet, like cow’s & buffalo’s milk.

In an era that’s professing the vegan life, this one is a very interesting piece of info. Thank you for sharing the benefits of camel’s milk.

  10. Had no idea. Thanks for sharing!
